The Sanskrit courses at Atmavidya were created for all those who want to start a traditional Sanskrit study in a methodical and regular way. Sanskrit is an essential part of Vedic studies; it will prepare the mind of the student blessing with logical and clear thinking and provide an understanding and flow of the Sanskrit Texts. The classes are available in 2 levels:

1. 1) Beginner – “Introduction to Sanskrit language – Devanagari”
2. 2) Grammar – Module I – “Introduction to Grammar”

1.1  Beginner – “Introduction to Sanskrit language – Alphabetization / Devanagari” First we will have a panoramic approach explaining the Sanskrit language in its traditional context. We will understand the uniqueness, characteristics and benefit of Sanskrit. The focus of this course will be on accurate pronunciation and learning Devanagari. In this way we will understand the point of articulation of the language as well as the classifications of each letter. We will learn to read the transliterated, becoming familiar with the markings of each letter. The Devanagari script will be presented and we will have several practices to facilitate the memorization of each symbol. At the end of this course we will dedicate to reading and writing different verses in Devanagari and the teacher will be listening individually to the participants. Upon completion of the course, the student will have a flow and accurate pronunciation when reading and writing the Devanagari. Contents

3. Devanagari – Alphabetization in Devanagari
4. Reading & Writing – Practice – Participants will be listened to individually and the audio of the reading will be available to the student

Prerequisite:  The dedication, commitment and persistence of the practitioner are of great importance. For those who choose this journey, dedicating time daily to practice and exercises suggested by the teacher is essential.
