Yoga is a lifestyle that helps the practitioner achieve self-knowledge, preparing the mind for the systematic study of Vedānta.
As Glória Arieira states in the introduction to the book ‘O yoga que conduz à plenitude’ (2016, p. 31): “(…) Yoga emphasizes the discipline of the mind, and Vedānta emphasizes self-knowledge, which is the understanding that the limitation-free Brahman is the truth of the Self, ātman. But even as it teaches about the mind, its characteristics, and how to deal with it, the greater focus of Yoga is self-knowledge, the same as Vedānta.”
Thus, this lifestyle has to do with our attitude towards the world, relationships, and ourselves. The practice happens on the yoga mat and, especially, off the mat. When consistent, the practice of yoga enables the transformation of the practitioner’s personality and then the fruits of their labor can be admired.
Yoga operates alignment and refinement on the physical, energetic, and mental levels, which is beneficial for self-knowledge. In addition, the discipline of the body, mind, and senses promotes order and harmony in our lives, which is why this ancient lifestyle remains very popular.
Yoga classes will include Haṭha Yoga postures, brief breathing exercises, and brief meditations.

Weekly classes: Mondays and Wednesdays, from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
